After wearing your XIV jewelry, wipe gently with a jewelry cleaning cloth or any soft rag to maintain a solid polish.

Treat all jewelry with care and avoid harsh conditions.  Do not expose to chemicals.  Be wary of rough surfaces, which can cause scratches to the metal.

Please do not wear your jewelry in water.  Remove your XIV jewelry before bathing, swimming, hot yoga class, exercise etc. Avoid contact with perfumes, lotions or hair products. It is best to put on your jewelry after applying these products. Do not use any jewelry cleaner, as this will accelerate the wearing away of the anti-tarnish coating and the plating.

We recommend cleaning your XIV jewelry periodically. Even if your jewelry hasn’t been exposed to any of the aforementioned substances, it’s been in contact with your skin, which perspires. Natural body chemistry can be harsh on plating. It is not uncommon for chemicals perspired through the pores of the skin to cause plated jewelry to tarnish and discolor.

Wash jewelry with warm water. Use a mild soap only if necessary. Gently clean nooks and crannies with an old, soft toothbrush. Never soak your plated jewelry for extended periods of time—doing so may weaken the electroplating finish. Rinse fully after cleaning & dry completely before wearing or storing.

STORAGE

Your jewelry will retain its shine for longer when kept in a jewelry pouch or sealed plastic bag when not in use. To prevent scratching, keep all of your pieces separate from one another, either store them individually or wrap in tissue. Avoid leaving pieces in a humid place (such as a bathroom) for extended periods.
